Description of Arasa ilai / Peepal Tree/ Sacred Fig Leaf Powder:
Ficus religiosa is a large dry season deciduous or semi evergreen tree up to 30 metres ( 98 ft ) tall and with a trunk diameter of up to 3 metres . The leaves are cordate in shape with a distinctive extended drip tip; they are 10ā17 cm long and 8ā12 cm broad, with a 6ā10 cm petiole. The fruits are small figs 1ā1.5 cm in diameter, green ripening to purple. This phenomenon can be explained due to the long leaf stalk and the broad leaf structure.According to Ayurveda, every part of the peepal tree - the leaf, bark, shoot, seeds, as well as the fruit, has several medicinal benefits. It is being used since ancient times for curing many diseases.

Take either a few tender peepal leaves, or its powder and boil it along with milk. Then, add sugar and drink it for about two times in a day. It helps those ailing with asthma.
